      David Smith chaired a panel session at the Insight show on the issue of how the market research industry should combine the best of traditional methodologies with the new and exciting opportunities opened up by online research. Leading a panel of experts drawn from the fields of more traditional and also online research, David explored a range of issues designed to provide a roadmap of new creative research.       David Smith, in his capacity as a Visiting Professor at the University of Hertfordshire Business School, attended a forum on the role of market research in the commercial and public sector decision-making. This was attended by over 200 members of staff and students.

      David Smith delivered a lecture to the AMAI in Mexico City on the way in which the traditional market research role has been widened to include a more evidence based consultancy stance. The paper reviewed the need for researchers to be flexible and creative in improvising around the edges of the more traditional methodologies to find ways of generating fresh and effective insights.
