David Smith

• David has 30 years' marketing intelligence experience, most recently as CEO of a UK top ten market research agency.
• David holds a PhD in Organisational Psychology from the University of London. He is a Fellow, and former Chairman, of the Market Research Society, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, and is also a Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants.
• He is a Professor at the University of Hertfordshire Business School.
• David is a member of the British Psychological Society.
• He has won numerous awards from the Market Research Society, ESOMAR and other bodies, and holds the MRS's Silver Medal.
• He is the author of Inside Information - Making Sense of Marketing Data and The Art & Science of Interpreting Market Research Evidence. David is also one of the authors of the 5th edition of ESOMAR's Handbook of Market Research
• Most recently, David has been awarded ESOMAR's prestigious John Downham Award for Excellence in Market Intelligence.

  • Her corporate roles have included tenures at Disney-ABC, Disney Channel and Sony BMG both in London and in Sydney.
  • Marianne graduated with first class Honours from the University of Newcastle, Australia.

  • Patrick graduated with an Honours degree in Psychology from the University of the West of England.
  • During this time, he completed a University placement within the Employee Research division of a market research agency.
  • Patrick has recruited for a number of leading international and UK research agencies, on behalf of Pricejamieson Recruitment Consultants, before moving into research with DVL Smith Group.
